Q: If dental amalgam is that harmful, why didn’t our government ban it?

A: Must we wait for our government to ban cigarettes before one stops smoking? Our government has not banned alcohol & casinos, too, but we can choose not to indulge in something we know is not good. And who is the government? We are the ones who put them there to look after our interests. We have a say unless we are complacent and don’t know our rights.

Q: My dentists told me that all the accusations leveled at them are not scientifically proven & those who blame medical conditions on dental procedures are ALARMISTS or DISEASE MONGERS.

A: If your health is restored after you undo your amalgam or root canals, what do you call that, “unscientific”? Go into Google search, on dental amalgam, and you would be shocked to find 55,000 websites on this subject. Many of these sites are put up by former victims (of mercury poisoning) who choose to share their experiences so that others can benefit. Of course the FDA, the ADA & other DAs (Dental associations) are also there trying to defend themselves with flimsy statements. You will also be able to find lots of scientific literatures; one example is the “SCIENCE ON DENTAL AMALGAM” website.

Q: The Malaysian Dental Association’s position is that mercury amalgam is very safe & harmless to the general public, except for a handful of people who are allergic to it. What do you say about this?

A: Similarly, the Tobacco Planters & Cigarette Manufacturers Associations’ position is that “Cigarettes have never been proven to cause cancer.” But do you believe them? Our dental association is influenced by its bigger brother in the U.S. When the ADA (American Dental Association) sneezes, the Malaysian Dental Association will get the tissues.

Q: My dentist is a Christian. I don’t think he wants to harm me. He will tell me the truth. He is a professional, & professional people have a code of ethics. How do you respond?

A: No dentist will want to harm or tell lies to his/her patient. The trouble is that we as humans are a very trusting species, until we are conned. The dentists trust their associations, & their associations trust the US dental associations, and we as patients suffer. The real trouble is from USA. If truth is admitted, the whole dental industry would be ruined by lawsuits. There is not enough money to pay every body. Right in the very middle of our Bible, it is written, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” Psalms 118:8. Man’s way of doing things, be it business or in the name of Science, ARE often LACED with LIES.

Your dentist can be sincere but can be ignorant at the same time. Be informed and know your options. There is no excuse in this I.T. age to remain uninformed & ignorant. We can no longer hide behind the assurances of those who say they will save us from our follies.

Q: In trying to convince me of the safety of amalgam fillings, my dentist showed me his own fillings. He asked me that if amalgam is toxic would he have them installed in his own teeth. Wow! That sounds convincing enough. Is he poisoning himself?

A: Well, he sounded like the roadside medicine man who scalds his own arm with boiling-hot water in trying to sell his salve (ointment). Your dentist was angry with you for implying that he poisons all his patients. It is very sad that he is ill informed & one day he will be answerable to God for the things he did to the paying patients who trusted him with their lives.

According to surveys done in USA, dentists themselves suffer twice the rate of brain tumors, twice the rate of suicides & twice the rate of divorce than the rest of the population. They also suffer from Impaired Fine Motor Skills more seriously than the general population. It is because mercury is a neurotoxin, & all those poor dentists suffer because of daily exposures to mercury.

Q: I have lots of amalgam fillings but I do not have any symptoms. Will the mercury in the amalgam harm me?

A: Not everyone who has amalgam fillings is affected health wise. Some of us because of our genetic makeup have stronger immune systems which will take care of toxic substances more effectively than others. The only danger is when sickness strikes; your immune systems won’t be able to cope with handling your disease as well as your dental toxins.

Q: Is it true that amalgam is a more reliable material for dental restoration since it is tougher & lasts longer?

A: Yes, it works best in most cavities, even large ones where composite material cannot match its performance. But dentist Hal Huggins from Colorado, USA has this to say: “The real issue is, which is more important, the life of the filling or the life of the patient?”

Q: Why is it dangerous for me to just go to any dentist to replace my amalgam?

A: The correct protocol to remove amalgam is very important so that you won’t be poisoned further. During the drilling process mercurial dust & vapor can be inhaled by you thereby increasing the mercury level in your body. Patients have become very ill as a result of inhaling the toxic mercury fumes. Complaints like high fever for several weeks, heart palpitations, tinnitus, insomnia, lethargy & even coma can result. Do not play with mercury!!!

My panel dentists use a special tool called Clean-Up from Sweden to extract by vacuum at least 90% of mercurial vapors & dust when drilling out the old fillings. Each week only one amalgam filling can be removed safely. You will need to do oral detoxification, i.e. To take anti-mercury (anti-amalgam) drops, detox capsules & anti-oxidants must be taken for a week before you see our panel dentists. That helps to drop your body mercury level, so that the safety margin is widened to allow for dental work.

Q: Is it true that mercury amalgam fillings are cheaper than composite fillings?

A: Yes, amalgam installation can be cheaper than composites by half, but in the long run it can cost you much more when you have to pay to treat all those conditions caused by mercury poisoning.
